Picking the right fabric

When choosing a fabric for your window treatment, it’s important to understand which ones work best for what styles. Swags, for instance, should drape into soft folds.
Conversely, heavy canvas-like fabrics are perfectly suitable for flat curtain panels, upholstered cornices, and even Roman shades. Also take a close look at your pattern of choice.
Solid colors and small to medium prints work just about any where, but fabrics that repeat large patterns are better used on window that are equally large in scale.
To appreciate the design to its fullest, make sure that it doesn’t get lost in too many folds of fabrics, either.
